Target marketing boss heads AMI Breakfast Series

Environmentally sensitive rebrand for climate change pioneers

One of Australia’s pioneering climate change organisations, The Carbon Pool, is sporting a sophisticated new brand identity following a complete overhaul by Icon.Inc.

Launched at a recent international carbon-trading meeting held in Cairns, the new Carbon Pool identity was designed to position the company at the forefront of climate change management.

The new identity uses a modern Australian colour palette, new font and logo device to create a fresh and dynamic identity for the two-year-old company.

Completed in just three weeks, the rebranding project included design and printing of all corporate collateral and delivery of new communications packs to key points in Australia, in time for the carbon conference.

Once the new brand was approved, Icon designed an eye-catching suite of corporate communications materials including letterhead, business cards, corporate brochure, fliers and presentation materials.

A highlight of the project was the use of highly specified environment papers, inks and printing finishes in keeping with The Carbon Pool’s strict environmental ethos and guidelines.

Icon.Inc senior account manager Rebekah Spencer said the choice of environmentally friendly printers, papers and inks added a further challenge to the project.

“A lot of effort went into sourcing production solutions that were both beautiful and environmentally sustainable. Working closely with Finsbury Green Printing, we settled on Mohawk Options PC 100 stock and used simple, clever design featuring two core colours within an Australian-themed colour palette.”

Chinese translation for Red Cross website

The Australian Red Cross Blood Service (ARCBS) has just launched a Chinese-language version of its successful www.donateblood.com.au website, designed by Icon.Inc.

Launched in December, www.donateblood.com.au is the centrepiece of efforts by the ARCBS to boost Australia's dwindling blood supplies whilst improving  communication and cutting costs. This includes expanding the ARCBS donor community to include non-English speaking groups.

Working closely with a specialist Chinese language translator, Icon.Inc's interactive team created a seamless Chinese language version of the website including full CMS functionality. Vietnamese and Arabic versions are due for roll-out in the coming months.

e-newsletters boost communications

In addition to the translation project, Icon has been busy creating three e-newsletters for the ARCBS as part of moves to enhance communications with staff and medicos.

Applying user-friendly software that allows staff to easily insert and edit each month’s content, as well as send the newsletters themselves, Icon created three separate newsletters: ‘Friday Facts’ for internal staff, ‘Blood e-news’ for donors, and ‘Med-e-news’, informing the medical profession.

"Stunning" sales brochure sets scene for Salta apartments

When leading property developer Salta Properties announced plans for Melbourne’s most exclusive apartments, they needed a design agency capable of creating an equally exclusive project brochure.

The stunning 18-page brochure for the “No. 150 Clarendon Street” apartment project sets a new benchmark for elegance and style in property marketing collateral. Using a restrained black and white colour palette, Icon’s creative director Anna White and designer Rom Anthonis capture the exclusivity and excitement of this unique development.

The striking design is paired with content by Icon’s copywriting team, who chose a narrative format in which to “tell the story” of East Melbourne and the Apartments. Further impact is created through the selective use of creative print treatments including varnishes, foils and embossing.
